WELSHMANS REEF VINEYARD

THE WINES

current range of wines
Welshmans Reef Vineyard
produces dry and semi dry table wines in the modern Australian style. They are fresh, fruit driven wines with judicious use of oak, allowing the true flavour of each variety to shine through.
We occasionally produce a Botrytis Semillon, a delicious sweet, sticky dessert wine. This wine is produced in very small amounts and is highly sought after whenever it is available.

Welshmans Reef Chardonnay

Tropical fruits dominate the palate with this lightly oaked and fruit driven style of the popular chardonnay wine.
Hints of mango, passionfruit, pineapple and peach are underlaid with the buttery softness which is typical of this grape. A touch sweet, this is a very easy drinking wine.

Welshmans Reef Semillon

A full bodied wine rich with flavour, a nose revealing many citrus notes including grapefruit and lime. This wine is fermented in oak barrels, and is enhanced with the addition of a small amount of estate produced botrytis wine, which adds apricot and mandarin flavours and extra richness and complexity . This is a wine that will last for ages.

Welshmans Reef Cabernet Sauvignon

Ruby coloured, blackberry and blackcurrant bouquet, this is a delicious wine, with lovely depth, soft tannins and lingering flavour. Cabernet Sauvignon will cellar for 5 to 8 years.

Welshmans Reef Shiraz

The favourite grape of Central Victoria is Shiraz, and here is another fabulous reason why. Rich and full bodied, this wine has aromas of cloves and cedar box, with pepper and spice over subtle plum flavours. Gentle tannins and medium acidity will ensure cellaring for 5 to 6 years.
